On paper, Turno sounds like an incredible product. Hosts post a job, cleaners bid on it, if the host likes what they see, the deal is done. Easy enough.
But after talking to several disastisfied users, it doesn’t appear to be that rosy.
Here are some of the comments I received when I made a post asking about what experiences with Turno have been:
“If you get a tip or a reimbursement they also take away from that!”
“Hosts can cancel payment after the cleaning is done and Turno does nothing about it. Host never complained about the cleaning and never reached out to Turno they disputed the charges with their bank and got a free cleaning.”
“Turno has created a race to the bottom that makes hosts forget about the value professional cleaners bring to Airbnb industry”
“All the fees they charge and the quote prices need to up”
“I don't think the pay is enough. Would be great for someone that is just getting started and doesn't have a large clientele.”
“I signed up but then canceled when it got to the background check. Not paying that much $ for that!”
The comments continue… clearly there are some unmet needs here from current (or potential Turno customers). So here’s a question I genuinely want an answer to:
Is there an alternative to Turno? If you were to re-create turno from a cleaner (or host) perspective, what would you change?
