Google Is Where Your Customers Are Looking
The one platform every Airbnb cleaner absolutely needs (but most ignore)
Let's talk about something that's absolutely critical for your Airbnb cleaning business: Google My Business.
I'm going to be straight with you: if you're running a local service business like Airbnb cleaning and you don't have a Google My Business profile, you're missing out on where your customers are actually looking for you.
Everyone Starts on Google
Think about it. When you need a plumber, where do you start? Google. Electrician? Google.
It's the same for Airbnb hosts looking for cleaners. They're going to search "cleaners near me" or "cleaners in Dallas" (or whatever your city is), and if you're not showing up, they're finding your competition instead.
This is exactly how customers find services, and cleaning is no different.
What Our Google Profile Looks Like
Our Bonnie and a Broom NWA cleaning profile shows up with five stars and 104 reviews. This is what customers see when they search for cleaners: our reviews from other customers, photos of our work, phone number, and business hours.
Once we crossed that 90, 95, and 100 review mark, the number of leads we've gotten has gone up dramatically. I'm talking about a real, noticeable difference in how many people are reaching out to us.
The Three Things That Actually Matter
Here's what you need to win at your Google My Business profile:
1. Keep it updated
Add pictures continuously. Add status updates. Make sure everything is accurate, your address, business hours, all of it. This isn't something you set up once and forget about.
2. Get reviews (the right kind of reviews)
Not just any reviews, impactful ones. Reviews with pictures. Reviews with actual text descriptions of the service, not just five stars.
Even better if those descriptions include keywords like "I use them to clean my Airbnb in Dallas." That stuff is gold for Google.
3. Use keywords everywhere
In your profile, use terms like "cleaners in Dallas" or "Airbnb cleaning." List out all the specific services you offer. The more specific you can get about what your business does, the better Google can promote you when people search for those exact services.
All of this and more is covered in our Airbnb Cleaning Course. If you want $100 off the course, fill out this quick survey for our friends at Breezeway and send me an email, and I'll get you the discount code.
Don't Forget the Website Part
You also need a website that people can actually visit from your Google profile. If you don't have one, set one up. You can use carrd.co for free. I use Booking Koala, but that's probably over-engineered if you're just doing Airbnb cleaning.
Make sure you use keywords like "Airbnb cleaner in your city" so Google can direct customers to your website.
On that website, make sure you have:
A quote form (really just a lead intake form where people can say, "I want more information")
Your phone number
Photos
Reviews
The Reality Check
Google My Business is one of the best things you can do for your business. Actually, I'd say you absolutely have to have one to run a local service business like Airbnb cleaning.
It's kind of the biggest lead generator for us, but here's the thing: once it's set up properly, there's not a ton you have to do apart from getting reviews and making sure everything stays accurate.
Ready to Scale Beyond Google?
Google My Business is just one piece of building a successful Airbnb cleaning business. When I started Same Day Turn, I had to figure out everything from scratch: pricing, customer acquisition, building systems, and scaling to a team.
Now we're doing $40k per month with 30 cleaners, and I've put everything I learned into my Airbnb Cleaning Course. The strategies that took me from that first $500 week to where we are today.
If you're ready to stop guessing and start building a real business with proven systems, check out the course here.
I share the exact playbook, including the mistakes I made, so you don't have to make them too.
All of this and more is covered in our Airbnb Cleaning Course. If you want $100 off the course, fill out this quick survey for our friends at Breezeway and send me an email, and I'll get you the discount code.
Until next time!
