If you’re putting off running Facebook ads because the whole thing feels like a maze, this one’s for you.
I avoided FB ads for a long time. Every time I opened Meta Ads Manager on desktop, I had no idea what was going on. Campaign objectives, ad sets, audiences, Advantage+, pixels, events, placements, etc. I had no clue what I was doing.
So I closed the tab and said “I don’t have time for this”
Here’s what finally got me over the hump and helped me launch my first FB ad.
Meta Ads Manager App
Desperate to figure it out, I downloaded the Meta Ads Manager app on my phone and launched my first ad there instead of on desktop.
Was it perfect? Not even close.
Was it optimized. Nope. Definitely not.
But did it get me moving in the right direction? Yes. Absolutely.
The app is far from perfect. It glitched and froze, and I had to retry launching the ad three different times. But it removed 90% of the confusion and let me focus on what was absolutely necessary to launch the ads.
Even though the app was really glitchy, it finally let me launch my first ad without getting distracted by all the details. Just a quick and easy way to get your first ad out the door.
So what’s next?
Think of the Meta Ads Manager mobile app as a gateway. It gives you just enough to get started. Now you know enough to be slightly dangerous.
Once I got that first ad up and running, I finally felt confident enough to re-open the desktop ads manager. Because I took a small step with the app, the desktop version started to make sense. Now, my focus is on optimizing my current ads using the desktop version.
The fastest way to learn Facebook ads isn’t to watch another 20-minute tutorial. It’s to launch something. Once you launch your first ad and spend a few dollars ($50/day for 3 days in my case), the lightbulb turns on. Stuff starts to make sense. That’s when desktop Ads Manager becomes useful instead of intimidating.
So use the app as your gateway. Learn the basics. Get a win.
Then, when you're ready, level up on desktop.
Challenge for you
Try to launch your first Meta ad this week! Hopefully the mobile app will simplify it for you like it did for me! Let me know how it goes and when you launch your first meta ads!
Rooting for you!
Until next time!
