We’ve all been there, we underquoted an Airbnb only to regret it. Maybe you did it to win the job, or maybe the host was dishonest about the number of beds at the property.
Whatever happened, you can’t stay in a bad deal forever so you need to make some changes. Airbnb cleaning is hard enough. The worst case scenario is owning a business that is both incredibly stressful and underpaid. No thank you!
Currently, we are making +50% on all the Airbnbs we clean. That means that even after we pay our cleaners, we are still taking home more than 50% of the job.
So, if you’re in an unprofitable deal with a host, you have a couple of options:
Suffer through it
Let the host know it’s no longer working and quit
Raise the price
I hope you’ll go with option 3 here. This shows that you respect yourself and your time. But it also shows that you respect the host. Just quitting and leaving them high and dry will burn your bridge super fast.
If you raise your price to what it should be and they decline your services, determine if you can or should suffer a little longer. If they decline the price increase, there is someone else out there who will pay you what you’re worth. I promise.
Here’s the screenshot of my ops manager raising prices on an Airbnb client without me even knowing (amazing!).

P.S. something exciting is coming to the Same Day Turn community. The first ever community for Airbnb cleaning business owners launches on March 31. Free forever for the first 25 people who fill out this form (will be $29/mo on March 31).
Inside the Same Day Turn community will be:
Live webinars on topics important to you (sales, pricing, hiring, laundry, supplies, etc.)
Live Q&A sessions - bring your questions and learn from real operators
Resources, guides, templates, courses, etc.
Until next time!
