I got a call one day from an Airbnb host who managed a 15,000 sq ft wedding venue.

You read that right. Fifteen thousand square feet.

They needed a turnover cleaning. I was pumped. These types of properties can turn into big money over time, so I did a walkthrough and quoted it.

She told me the first cleaning might be in a few weeks but she needed final approval from the owners first.

And then… silence.

Three weeks passed. We never heard back. In that time, our schedule filled up. Twenty cleans are already booked for that weekend.

Then, on a Friday afternoon, she called.

"Can you send four cleaners this Sunday?"

Technically… yes. But only if I moved things around and rescheduled four of our current customers. These are people who've been loyal to us, some for months. They rely on us.

And I almost did it. Almost.

But then I asked one more question that changed everything:

"When is the next cleaning after this?"

Her answer?

"Not for another two months."

That was it for me.

I wasn't going to risk disappointing four loyal, paying, recurring customers just to squeeze in a one-time clean. No matter how big the house was.

It's tempting to chase the shiny stuff. Big properties. Fancy bookings. Impressive square footage. But here's the truth:

Bigger is not always better.

If I've learned anything, it's this:

Don't kick over the honeypot. Take care of your regulars. Ask more questions.

Get the full picture before you reshuffle your whole life for a "maybe."
