When a Host Sent Us Before & After Photos of Their Towels
The one thing that sets us apart from every other cleaning company
Yesterday, a host sent us before and after pictures showing exactly how they wanted their towels folded in their Airbnb.
You know what they wanted? The edges facing away from the guest. Not toward them. Away.
Now, I'm being honest with you. A few years ago (heck maybe even a few months ago), this would have absolutely frustrated me. I would have thought, "Are you kidding? A guest isn't going to care which way the towel edges face."
And I'd be right. The guest probably won't notice.
But here's what I've learned about running a successful cleaning business: it's not about me.

Why We Welcome Picky Hosts
In our business, we allow hosts to give us up to 10 property-specific requirements. They can say, "Hey Logan, thanks for your 60-item standard checklist, but my property is unique. I need these 10 additional things done my way."
And we welcome it.
Most cleaning companies would roll their eyes. Most would say it's too much work. Most would tell the host to take their business elsewhere.
That's exactly why we do it.
This is what makes us special. This is what makes us stand out from the competition.
How We Actually Make It Work
So how do we handle a host who's particular about towel folding without losing our minds?
We use Breezeway to add property-specific requirements for each clean. When our cleaner arrives at that property, they can see those exact requirements and take pictures to verify everything is exactly how the host wants it.
No confusion. No "I forgot." No excuses.
The cleaner sees the requirement, they execute it, they document it, and we move on.
The Bigger Lesson Here
Here's what this towel situation taught me: the hosts who are most particular about their properties are often the ones who care most about their guests.
They're not being difficult for the sake of being difficult. They've thought through their guest experience down to the smallest detail. And they want a cleaning company that respects that level of care.
When you can deliver on those details, you become irreplaceable.
That host with the specific towel folding? They're not going to risk switching to a cheaper cleaner who might not care about the details. They've found someone who gets it.
For Cleaners: This Is Your Competitive Advantage
And if you're a cleaner, here's your opportunity: while other cleaners are competing on price alone, you can stand out by being detail-oriented and reliable.
The hosts who care most about details are the ones willing to pay premium rates. They're the ones who will keep you booked consistently because good cleaners are hard to find.
Show them your work that you're someone who cares about the towel edges facing the right direction.
Because that's what separates you from everyone else..
Until next time!
Logan
